Process

1. Register

Click on the "Register" link and complete and submit the registration form.

2. Login

Login to the award with your email and password.

3. Create

Create your online application.

4. Save

During the Call for Applications period, your application can be saved as DRAFT until all the required information is completed and attachments uploaded. As each section is complete, you will see a appear in the category tab when the application is saved. At any time, you can download and print your application by clicking on the icon in the Application Summary section.

5. Submit

On completion, save your Application as FINAL. Download and print a copy of your application for your records by clicking on the icon in the Application Summary section in the right column. Note: If an update is required prior to the Call for Applications period, you can make the update and resave as FINAL.

Professional Women in Building (PWB)

The Texas Association of Builders (TAB) Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council is made up of TAB members that are dedicated to furthering the inclusion of women in the residential construction industry.

Each year, the Texas Association of Builders Professional Women in Building Council awards scholarships to women that are in pursuit of (or looking to further) a career in the residential construction industry.

Eligibility Requirements

The applicant must...

  1. Be a woman.
  2. Have been accepted in or is enrolled for the next term for a residential construction related certification, license, credential or degree.
  3. Demonstrate an interest in obtaining employment in the residential homebuilding industry upon graduation.

Selection Criteria

Applicants are evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Career goals
  • Financial need
  • Academic performance

Award Information

  1. Individual scholarships will be awarded for the upcoming fall term.
  2. Applications will be reviewed by the Professional Women in Building Scholarship Council.
  3. Scholarships are distributed through the Texas Builders Foundation Professional Women in Building Council's Scholarship fund.
  4. Students may apply for additional scholarships for subsequent terms. The award of an initial scholarship does not guarantee the award of an additional scholarship to the student.
  5. All selection decisions are final and are not subject to appeal.
  6. Applications become the sole property of the Texas Association of Builders Professional Women in Building Council. 

The 2026-27 Professional Women in Building Council Scholarship will open on March 1, 2026, and close on April 1, 2026.

Texas Builders Foundation

The Texas Builders Foundation is the charitable arm of the Texas Association of Builders and is dedicated to opening doors for building the American dream of homeownership by paving the way for well-paying professional careers in the construction trades.

Each year, the Texas Builders Foundation awards scholarships to students who are enrolled in construction programs in Texas; technical and trade schools, colleges and universities and who are pursuing a career in the building industry.

Scholarships are awarded in the spring for the upcoming fall semester and following spring semester.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

  1. Have been accepted into or enrolled at a Texas technical/trade school or community college/university
  2. Be pursuing a residential construction related trade certification or degree

If the applicant is a high school senior, they must have

  • Attended high school in Texas

Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Career goals
  • Financial need
  • Academic achievement
  • Employment history
  • Extracurricular activities

Additional requirements

An official transcript from your current school is required.

Fall semester awards

  • Individual scholarships will be awarded for the upcoming fall semester.
  • Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee of the Texas Builders Foundation and recommendations will be made by the Board of Trustees of the Texas Builders Foundation.
  • Scholarships are distributed through the Texas Builders Foundation. Checks are made payable to and mailed directly to the school in which the student has been accepted to or enrolled in for the upcoming fall semester.
  • Students may apply for additional scholarships during the application cycle before their current award expires.
  • The award of an initial scholarship does not guarantee the award of an additional scholarship to the student.
  • Applications and supporting documents become the sole property of the Texas Builders Foundation and will not be returned.
  • All Selection decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

Second/subsequent semester awards

  • Second/subsequent semester awards may be awarded but are not guaranteed.
  • Second/subsequent semester awards are contingent upon the student maintaining enrollment and good academic standing.
  • Recipients will be required to submit proof of enrollment and an updated transcript to receive second/subsequent semester awards.
